Sorry, no APO/FPO military
mail.
Apologies to our friends in the
military, but we've had terrible problems with loss,
breakage, and misdirected packages. It's difficult (by
which we mean impossible) to actually get anything real back
from the "insurance" on these
packages.
The US Post Office does
not allow the following for Priority Mail:
1. Liquids (malt extract!)
2. Perishable Items (yeast!)
3. Glass (bottles and carboys!)
4. Fragile Items (almost everything else!)
No international shipping.
International orders are expensive,
and they have a high incidence of problems; both for us and for
our
customers. Therefore, we're no longer offering this
service. This allows us to concentrate our time and
energy on our customers in the United States.
Now
that the border is more restrictive, we no longer ship to Canada.
Shipping glass
does cost extra.

Because we use a lot of time and
packing materials to get them ready for shipment. We
individually bubble-wrap each bottle! When we pack your glass, it gets to
you in one piece.
We've tried shipping glass bottles and fermentors in their
original boxes, but the rate of breakage was very high.
Shipping insurance won't cover broken glass without extreme
(and expensive) cushioning.
If you receive a broken
glass carboy...
UPS does not always guarantee
glass carboys. However, we have a policy to cover this
eventuality.
1. Save the broken carboy and
all of the packing material, because UPS may need to inspect
it.
2. Contact us by phone or
Email.
If you
receive a broken glass bottle:
1. You must call (not email) if
any bottles arrive broken. Call us toll-free
800-279-7556
2. Do not dispose of broken
bottles before calling us. (UPS may need to inspect the
package.)
3. Replacement bottles will not be shipped
immediately for free shipping or flat-rate shipping.
It is our policy to ship replacement bottles along with your
next order, at no additional cost to you.
4. If you need replacement bottles sooner,
you must agree to pay the charged actual UPS shipping fee.
(Actual UPS shipping fee depends on your location, and the
total weight of the replacement bottles.)
5. Annapolis Home Brew reserves the right to
issue a refund instead of replacement bottles.
About Shipping
Live Yeast:
Live yeast can be shipped to
almost all locations, all year long. If it's warm in
your area, the yeast will probably be warm when it arrives.
Even with an ice pack, the yeast will probably warm up by the
time you receive it. The ice pack extends the
refrigerated time, it doesn't last forever.
However, this isn't deadly to
yeast. It takes more than the hottest weather (even 110
degree days) to actually kill the yeast outright. We
have shipped many hundreds of yeast cultures to locations
where they've been un-refrigerated for a week or more during
transit. This may weaken the culture somewhat, so
fermentation starts a little slower, but you'll find that the
quality of the beer is just fine. Even better is that
fact that most orders take less than a week in transit, and
it's not that hot for most of the year!
In almost all cases
when we're contacted about yeast that arrived "hot"
- it ends up working fine. You have to give it a chance.
We will not provide free replacement yeast on the mere
suspicion of heat damage.
If you have a large yeast
order, or if it's very important that your yeast arrive still
refrigerated, we can pack it in an insulated box. This
is a special box lined with 1½ inches of solid Styrofoam, like
a very sturdy picnic cooler. If it's shipped Next-Day or
even 2nd-Day, it almost always arrives cool. The cost is
$30 for the insulated box and icepacks, plus premium shipping - which
will be significantly expensive (budget at least $50) and absolutely non-refundable.
Mention Insulated Box Next-Day
or Insulated Box 2nd-Day in the Special Instructions
section of your order form.
Damaged or Defective Items:
If you have damaged or
defective items in your order, please contact us immediately
via phone or Email. In some cases we can send a
replacement immediately.
In other cases, at our
discretion, we will require either a damage report from UPS,
or that you return the damaged/defective item. Your
replacement will not ship until we receive the
damaged/defective item. Annapolis
Home Brew is not responsible for the cost of return shipping.
In certain instances we may pay
for return shipping, but this is strictly at our discretion
and is not negotiable.
Dented Cans
These cans have traveled a long way,
you need to be prepared for a few dents every once in a while!
We will only replace dented cans if they are returned to us at
your expense and by your own arrangements. We strongly
suggest that you ignore the dents unless they are so severe
that the can can't be opened. If you have a serious
damage situation, give us a call and we will attempt to
resolve it on a case-by-case basis.

Returns are accepted for up to 30 days after date of sale (in
