BoilerMaker™ Brew Pots have been designed from the ground up specifically for home brewing. Constructed from heavy 18-gauge 304 stainless steel, and available in 10, 15, 20, 30, and 55 gallon sizes for home brew batches from 5 gallon to 1 barrel or more.

Blichmann HopBlocker for Brew Pots

Traditional screen filters quickly plug with pellet hops and other fine break material since they draw from the bottom of the pot and immediately suck all the break material into the screens where they quickly plug. For the HopBlocker, we utilized preferential flow to leave the settled fine break material (hops and trub) undisturbed at the bottom of the pot while draining the majority of the wort through a coarse filter from the top down.

When the wort level is just a couple inches from the bottom of the pot, the fine filter element is then exposed by lifting the shield and the remainder of the wort is filtered. This way, the fine filter only has to filter a small portion of the wort instead of all of it. The HopBlocker will filter 90-95% of the break material and hops out of your wort without plugging.

Unlike competitive units made from simple kitchen-ware fitted with a basic false bottom, the HopRocket has been designed from the ground up as a purpose-built, heavy duty, hopback and hop infuser. This clean sheet approach means truly superior performance and features:

* The HopRocket can be utilized as a general strainer/filter but it is NOT intended to filter all the sediment and particles of your brew pot while using at a hopback. The large quantities of pellet hops, trub and other debris will plug and compact the hop bed stopping flow. The installation of a prefilter in your pot is recommended to prevent excessive quantities of material from entering the hopback. As such, recirculation whirlpool immersion chilling systems should not be utilized with the HopRocket.
