Good for filtering beer or wine, especially if you own a kegging system. This great design features large O-rings built into the frame, which greatly reduces or eliminates the seepage that all other round filters exhibit. Uses two 22 cm round filter pads. The best way to use this filter is to hook it up inline between two kegs. Use two "liquid side" (out) keg connectors to do this. The first keg is full of unfiltered beer, the second keg is empty. Remember, the beer must be cold to get the benefits of filtration! Now hook the filter up between the 2 kegs. Apply 10-15 psi CO2 pressure to the first keg, and the beer will be pushed through the filter and into the second keg! Make sure to loosen the lid on the second keg so that air can escape as it fills with bright filtered beer! Price: $58.99 plus shippingQuantity:
GF1 pads are considered to be 2-7 micron. In other words, almost all particles under 2 microns pass through them. Particles larger than 7 micron are completely filtered out, and particles in-between are partially removed.
GF1 pads are usually sufficient for red wines and darker beers. White wines should be further polished with GF3 or even GF5 pads. Pale beers may have some chill haze remaining after GF1 pads - these should be finished with GF3 pads. Price: $1.99 plus shipping (you should probably order multiples of 2)Quantity:
GF3 pads are considered to be 1-4 micron. In other words, almost all particles under 1 micron pass through them. Particles larger than 4 micron are completely filtered out, and particles in-between are partially removed.
GF3 pads are used for polishing white wines and blush wines to brilliant clarity. If the wine is already very clear, you can skip the GF1 pads and start with GF3's. With beer all traces of chill haze can be removed, but make sure that the beer is first filtered with GF1 pads, or else the GF3 pads will clog almost instantly. Price: $1.99 plus shipping (you should probably order multiples of 2)Quantity:
GF5 pads are considered to be 0.4-0.6 micron. In other words, almost all particles under 0.4 microns pass through them. Particles larger than 0.6 microns are completely filtered out, and particles in-between are partially removed.
GF5 pads are used for polishing lighter colored white wines, and they are used to remove all but trace amounts of yeast and bacteria, should this become necessary. GF5 pads are not routinely used for most red wines or for beer, but they can benefit the palest beer styles in some cases. Item #60510 Vinbrite Gravity-Type Wine Filter
The Vinbrite is inexpensive because it's driven by gravity. Put your carboy full of wine up high, and then siphon down through the filter into another carboy. Includes a couple pads and filter papers to get you started!
This process takes some time, during which the wine is exposed to air, so we strongly recommend adding 1 teaspoon of Ascorbic Acid and 1/4 teaspoon of Potassium Metabisulfite (in a 5-6 gallon batch) just before filtering. This protect the wine from oxidation without altering the flavor. The wine must have settled completely before you try to filter it. For best results, use filter pad and filter paper together. This filter will not work for beer. Price: $43.99 plus shipping Quantity:
Item #60511 Crystalbrite Filter Pads, 6 pack
These filter pads are intended for use with the Vinbrite gravity filter.

Item #60512 Vinpapers, pack of approximately 48
These filter papers are intended for use with the Vinbrite gravity filter.
They are appropriate for use with all wines, but not with beer. For best results, you should always use Vinpapers in combination with Crystalbrite filter pads.
