They're easy to apply, easy to open, and easily removed to reuse the bottles without leaving any residue. These thermoplastic capsules (unlike metal capsules) don't contain any lead.

A heat gun can be used to shrink them, but most hair dryers aren't hot enough.  We prefer to dunk them in boiling water for about 2 seconds, because the boiling water evenly heats the whole capsule so it doesn't wrinkle up.
